About Our Chapter

Welcome to Catholic Schoolhouse of Harford County, Maryland!

We’re glad you’re here to learn a little more about our chapter.

Catholic Schoolhouse of Harford County meets Wednesday mornings, from September through May, in Fallston, Maryland. We have classes for homeschooled students in preschool through high school.

Our day begins with morning prayer, chorus and the Pledge of Allegiance. Our scholars then move to their academic classes where grammar students learn and review memory work and enjoy hands-on art and science projects while upper level students engage in more in-depth art and science classes, participate in Socratic discussions and hone their writing and public speaking skills.

Our pre-grammar program, with a focus on the CSH core virtues, includes a gentle introduction to memory work, and age appropriate art and science activities. The goals of the pre-grammar program are to expose our very young children to the structure of the CSH day and increase family unity through shared learning.

During the 2024/2025 academic year we will be studying Tour 2, which covers the ancient world through medieval times. You can learn more about scope and sequence of Tour 2, and the rest of the Catholic Schoolhouse grammar level program, here. More information about our upper level programs is available here.

After classes, we regroup for closing prayer, lunch, outdoor play and fellowship.

If you have any questions about our chapter or about homeschooling in general, or if you would like to arrange a visit, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Many Blessings,

Sara Peterson, Chapter Team Director
